Although this might seem technical but checking whether you qualify for a Telkom upgrade is very easy and simple. With a few practical steps, you would be able to know if you qualify or not.
Keep in mind that, before you can qualify, you should be an active Telkom subscriber for at least 3 months and have also settled all your billings. Also, you can apply for an upgrade, your existing contract end date should be less than 2 months. Below are the steps to check if you qualify for an upgrade or not.
To check for an upgrade on Telkom dial *123# from the device you wish to upgrade. If your contract end date is in less than 2 months, you can now start applying for an upgrade.
Other options include the following steps.
- Go to your Telkom phone and dial *180#.
- Look for the Manage Account option.
- Select View Contract End Date.
When Can I Do My Telkom Upgrade
As stated earlier, before you can qualify, you should be an active Telkom subscriber for at least 3 months and have also settled all your billings. Also, Telkom states that upgrades become possible 2 months before the end of your current contract.
This means that if you are on a 24-monthly contract, you will be able to upgrade on the 22nd month and if it’s a 36-monthly contract, you will be able to upgrade at month 34.
To check for an upgrade on Telkom dial *123# from the device you wish to upgrade. If you are eligible for an upgrade, you will get offers. If there are no offers, then basically it means you don’t qualify yet.
You can also check out the expiry date for your existing Telkom contract. To do this;

- Choose option 7
- Choose option 4
When this is successfully done, you will see when your contract expires, and then you will know whether or not you qualify for an upgrade based on the terms of your contract. If you qualify, then you proceed to select the new contract offer you prefer.
Lastly, you can visit the Telkom official website, and log into your account using your username and password. Enter your number in the appropriate section, and verify the OPT password that will be sent to your phone.
